What’s On

Would you like to get involved with coastal rowing? Skylark IX Community Rowing are looking for people of all ages, regardless of previous experience, to help us set up and administer our community rowing project. As well as looking for rowers to join our project, we are also looking for support in lots of different roles too.

Here are some of the types of volunteers we need:

Fundraising – this can be anything from helping us write small grants, finding local sponsors, or organising small events to raise funds
Marketing, social media, and networking with other rowing clubs
General administrative duties like helping to organise a rowing schedule, organising meetings and taking minutes
    Boatbuilding and oar-making
    Skiff maintenance
Help with towing the skiffs to/from row sessions, regattas and community events
Making teas and coffee, support on shore, and general helping out
Support with accessibility – we want our rowing project to represent our local community, and be open to all

We’re also particularly keen to hear from people who have experience in rowing, coxing, or with any other similar skills or experience that might lend itself to the project.
